Spring Is In Bloom!

Spring is in bloom!  So is our planting unit!  We have read about and planted a rainbow of colors!  Students have emulated the work of Lois Elhert and have recreated her book, Planting A Rainbow, they have sewn seeds and like good scientists are observing the results of their efforts!

We see color everywhere and have created many works of art!

We also have infused color into our writing as we created many poems during the month of April.  A sampling of our poetry is hanging near our art gallery!

Our learners are starting to bloom and sprout as well!  We have celebrated many birthdays and are so happy for our friends who are not only growing physically but as learners!  We are readers, writers, artists, scientists, explorers, musicians and more!  Look at all the smiles as Aubrey reads aloud a book from home!

Next, we will be reading Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar and as we continue through our metamorphosis of the kindergarten experience we are beginning to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly and a frog.  We will explore community helpers and think about what we might like to become and how we hope to impact the world!
