Zooming Off To The Zoo

This past week revisited our study of animals and all things living and non-living.  Today we had the opportunity to take a trip to the Frankiln Park Zoo, a trip that was previously planned and rained out in October.

The weather was hot, hot, hot!  Many of animals were very active.  We watched and listened to  the lion pacing, the infant giraffe enjoying the sun and the camels relaxing in the shade.  The gorillas, along with their newborn were playing in their enclosure too!

Mrs. Hoyt was very proud of students as they were able to identify animal families and characteristics.  We saw lots of mammals, reptiles, fish, birds and a few insects (not in the enclosures!).  We were on the lookout for amphibians but did not get a chance to see them on this visit.
