Farewell To The Funny Faces Of Room 103

We had a wonderful year in room 103 and are so lucky to have spent this time with our kindergarten friends. Mrs. Hoyt and Ms. Miliano  know all our friends are going to do great in first grade.  Over the summer we will be working hard to prepare for next year, reading and relaxing with our families.  We encourage all of you to rest, relax, play and read all summer too!  Remember we encourage our students to keep a journal over the summer!

We would LOVE to read about all of our (now former) students summer adventures.  If students submit a post about activities or a great book they are reading, we will share it on the summer blog.  If you complete one at least once a week every week (at least 10 entries!) of the summer a PRIZE will be earned!  Prize recipients will be visited in their first grade classroom on the first day of school.   We hope we will be reading LOTS of summer entries!

Happy Summer!

Hello Pine Glen Community,

I hope everyone has a wonderful summer.  Please take time to read every day and review math facts.  Audio books are great - especially on long card rides.  Also, reading to others or being read too are spectacular ways to read as well.

We have some teachers moving grades this summer.  Mrs. Cunha will be moving to second grade and Mrs. Sheppard will be moving to fifth grade.  Ms. Tigges will be coming back to Pine Glen as a special needs teacher.  We will have four second grade classroom sections, two third grade classroom sections, and three classroom sections at the other grade levels.

During the summer break please enjoy this time with family and friends.  I love receiving postcards from students visiting different vacation spots!

We Bid Adieu To Our Fourth Grade Friends And Met A Grade 1 Teacher

Today we celebrated a game day!  Students were invited to wear specific colors depending upon their grade.  Kindergartners were clad in red!

We started our day by celebrating the start of summer and acknowledged our summer birthdays!  Happy birthday to Tyson, Sydney, Aubrey and Izabella (we missed our friend Heyssel today.)

Then Mr. Lord popped in and shared a very musically interactive story.  We were drumming along!

Our fourth grade friends stopped in to join us for board game fun! They created book marks fro us and wished us a happy summer.

We had a great time!

As Mrs. Hoyt and Ms. Miliano prepare to bid our students farewell we continued our efforts to make the transitions easy.  This afternoon first grade teacher, Ms. Jackson invited us in for a visit.  She read us one of her favorite stories and then introduced her students who had written us letters.

Sunny Water Day Fun

Wow, we had a wonderful time at our water day!  Thank goodness the rain clouds passed and the sun came out!

Our morning started with checking out a few crazy hairdos!  It was crazy hair day!

Once we went outside, friends went in the 10 pools we had filled, played with water toys, Legos and  hula hoops, drew with chalk and shaving cream, and enjoyed the sand table and bubbles stations. The sprinkler and the water balloons were the highlights for many.

In the afternoon we enjoyed cool popsicles with our friends in room 101.  Thank goodness we learned how to slow down the melting process when we did our protect the popsicle challenge...we ate them under the canopy of the school entrance!
