Favorite Books

Kindergartners are preparing to persuade readers!  We are sharing our favorite books and will be making persuasive posters to hang to convince other to read them!

Projects such as this give us lots of motivation to want to be wonderful writers!

Read Across America Week Fun

The first half of our Read Across America Week has been so busy and fun that we have forgotten to take as many photos!

On Monday, we wore our PJs and read the I Am Not Going To Get Up Today!  We also made Dr. Seuss hats and invited Mrs. B to read her favorite silly book about a Picnic.

Tuesday brought our crazy socks and our community spirit.  We wore our craziest socks and shared a pair of socks to give to others in need.  60 pairs of socks have been sent off to others! 

Wednesday sure was Wacky as we enjoyed great fun, wacky attire and a scheduled turned upside down!  Our Dads Day event may need to become a new annual celebration!

Thursday and Friday promise to be equally enticing as we celebrate Dr. Seuss, read, rhyme and dance!  We will spend then entire day Friday read, read, reading!

We are growing as readers, writers, leaders and global citizens.  Stay tuned for information next week about our upcoming read-a-thon!

Wacky Wednesday Hunt For Wacky

Wonderful and Wacky Wednesday Was Delightful With Dads!

We have been celebrating Read Across America Week this week!  Today was Wacky Wednesday and we started in a most wacky way!  In celebration of our great work in school we invited dads and dad-like role models to spend some time with us!

Our classroom was hopping with excitement this morning as we celebrated with many guests.

Our dad, grand-dads and uncles joined us for a morning meeting in which we practiced our greetings, were great communicators in sharing ideas with our question of the day and then had some fun with our weekly Wednesday Boom counting game.  Then we got down and dirty with RECESS!  

Students and adults had fun with blocks, games, science experiments, books, sand and more!

 

We introduced our guest dads to Boom counting, a favorite morning meeting game.

All were erupting with excitement about our volcanic experiences!

Lots of team work was witnessed as uncles, dad, grandads and friends helped our students play and build!

Our day was not all fun and games!  We spent time writing, practicing mathematical skills, working on our dictionaries and reading!
