We will have a busy month ahead as we delve into animal life cycles, continue with reading groups and work on Capital letters. We will be celebrating our 100th day, St. Patrick's day and many class birthdays. We are in for lots of fun!
We will have a pajama day on Friday
-optional of course.
Kindergartners have been talking about being persuasive. In recent weeks students have created posters to persuade others to read their favorite books.
Mrs. Hoyt shared a note she rec'd from Mr. Hoyt to convince her to welcome a new dog to the family.
We wrote letters to Mr. Musselman requesting a pajama day and he was persuaded. We are welcome to wear our pjs to class Friday!
Now we are going to try to influence what is cooked for dinner. Students are working on a letter to moms and dads in an effort to persuade them to cook a special item for dinner!
Kindergartners were challenged with creating their own sensory bottles.
Today Mrs. Hoyt shared her green bottle full of sparkles. Hansika has shared some photos of her creations. Everyone will have an opportunity to show and tell about bottles on Wednesday. Please share photos to be posted and shared with everyone!
Sensory bottles can be mesmerizing and calming. In addition sensory bottles help students develop their senses of curiosity and discovery because they create and combine the concoctions to fill the bottles. These bottles may be used as a calming support during online learning.
100 Collections for the
100th Day of School
We have been keeping track of the days we have been in school and we are approaching day 100! Several activities to celebrate this special day are being planned. We will celebrate the 100th day on Tuesday, March 2nd
Students are invited to gather a collection of 100 items at home. Some ideas for a collection might be 100 buttons, 100 pennies, 100 toothpicks, etc. The possibilities are endless. Use your imagination and help your child count and verify that he/she has 100 objects. Take a photo of the collection and send it to Mrs. Hoyt by February 26. All the photos will be gathered to present to classmates. If it is possible to have the collection handy on our 100th day, your child will be invited to share it live as well.

Our kindergarten class was creative and found a way to have fun with an optional secret valentine gift exchange. Thank you to all for participating and for your generosity and kindness towards one another!
All worked hard and used very kind manners in exchanging thanks!
Kindergartners are preparing to persuade readers! We will be making persuasive posters about our books!
In an effort to help students have a vision about what they are doing, Mrs. Hoyt shared some work by previous students.
When our book posters are complete, I will encourage students to show us the poster and tell us why we should read the book via Seesaw.
