What a wonderful Friday we had! We celebrated our great effort and behaovior with a show and tell time. Our friends celebrating Ramadan joined us again during math and then we played Bingo as part of the school wide PBIS celebration for earning so many Hoot Cards!
We started learning about colors, color mixing, and lines. Recently we completed some science experiments with color. We used water and food coloring with paper towels. Using primary colors we allowed the water to travel up the absorbent towels and mix colors.
We also split flower stems to dip them in 2 different colors to see what would happen.
Baking soda volcanos blended colors as well as melting ice cubes. The science of color mixing is fun!
Still more to come! We will be coloring our own eggs! This activity will be a nice way to culminate our Chick hatching/lifecycle unit and our color mixing exploration. Wel also read Rechenkah's Eggs and watch the author and illustrator, Patricia Polacco create her Ukrainian dyed eggs. She used hot wax to create designs when she uses different dyes.
