Kindergarten Fun

 

4th grade buddies helped us learn about hibernation!

Mrs. Fortunato visited with us to teach us a new program resource with ST Math.  We love the JiJi challenges.  We were also recognized for our tremendous work and efforts with the ST Math program.  Way to go everyone!

In addition to earning praise with ST Math, we keep receiving certificated through Lexia!

Kindness will be our next theme with Ms. Kendall.  Mrs Hoyt shared a book about being kind to everyone and so did Ms. Kendall.  We even made our own kindness spots!

Turkey Trot

 

Special thanks to Pine Glen P.E. teachers, Mr. Kip and Ms. Govoni. We had a wonderful time at the annual Turkey Trot.  It was great to be outside celebrating a Pine Glen tradition once again!

Despite chilly temperatures, students bundled up and ran, waddles, trotted and walked through a great morning of school community.  We had a terrific time cheering on our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade runners.  

Following the official races, we also circled the course and managed to jog, trot and sprint through sections!  

It was great to cheer on and hug siblings and former students.  Our 4th grade buddy teacher friend, Mrs. Clancy played the part of a turkey today!

Gratitude

 

What are you grateful for?

Kindergarten and grade 4 students spent some time together working on a guidance lesson about gratitude.  Everyone listened to a story and talk presented by Pine Glen guidance counselor, Ms. Kendall and then broke off into groups to discuss gratitude.  Prompted by a series of questions students found gratitude outside, in simple pleasures at home and in special friendships.  We all agree there is much to be thankful for.  

We wrote our thoughts on strips of paper and created a very long chain of gratitude.  We also illustrated our thoughts and shared our thanks with our 4th grade friends, letting them know how much we appreciate them.

Gratitude and sharing go together.  Kindergarten students stopped by the food donation station to drop off a large assortment of canned/dry goods that will be going to the local food pantry.  Mrs. Kerr and Mrs. Hoyt are grateful for our generous families!

A Great Day Of Singing

 

  K students from all  classes joined together for a fun sing along time outside today!

Staff and 4th grade friends who witness our mini concert were quite impressed.  Nice job kindergarteners!

Brr.....Breezy Day For Books

  A breezy book time was had this afternoon as our guest reading buddies braved the cold and spent some time reading to us outside.
