Happy New Year Room 103 Friends
Mrs Hoyt and Mrs. Kerr are looking forward to seeing all our students! We have missed you during the holiday break and can not wait to read your journals to learn about all of your adventures while away from school. Have you used many of the writing prompts we suggested?

December 20th Fun

Scarves were a big hit with both kindergartners and 4th graders!  Some even wore them to school with pjs today!

We joined with our friends for some more fun today as we celebrated and played BINGO!

We also took our learning show on the road with our "We Know Our Letters" parade.  We let everyone know that we have practiced the lower case letters and that Room 103 is full of experts!  We have a room full of musicians!

Wrapped Up In Gratitude

To let our 4th grade buddies know just how much we appreciate them we surprised them with a hug today!  We wrapped them up in scarves!  The kindergartners had great fun wrapping and writing cards and then surprising their friends!  The 4th graders were pleasantly surprised!

Journal Prompts - Things to Ponder

Wondering what you could add to your journal while writing over the break?....try these writing prompts.

Grade 4 Buddies Winter Fun

Our grade 4 friends visited today and we worked together to celebrate the upcoming winter break!  Students gathered and created illustrated pictures of snowmen with meaning.  Be sure to ask your student about the picture when they bring it home.  Ask about why certain colors were used and how many buttons the snowman has!

With the help of volunteers everyone made an I Spy snowball filled with trinkets - a fun challenge to share with family while away from school.

Our afternoon included a variety of fun math activities focused on the concept of addition!

We also continue to hunt for sight words in the variety of holiday images we are coloring.
